Huselid was named in 2004 by ISI Essential Science Indicators as number 33 of 814 “Most-cited Scientists in Economics and Business.” Huselid was the only scholar from the field of Human Resources Management to be named to the top 100 list.
Huselid’s 1995 paper in The impact of human resource management practices on turnover, productivity, and corporate financial performance is the most frequently cited paper in the 50 year history of the Academy of Management Journal. In total, two of his papers are among AMJ’s 25 most frequently cited papers, and three of his papers are in the top 50. He is the only scholar to appear more than twice on this list. In addition, the Social Science Citation Index shows that his work has been cited over 1,750 times; Google Scholar shows over 5,800 citations, and a general Google search returns over 50,000 hits for his work.
